Para ingresar hay que pasar por exámenes físicos y psicológicos. Nadie aún pudo alcanzar el premio.
La Mansión McKamey Manor es el lugar de ese terror extremo. Se trata de una casa situada en Summertown, Tennessee, donde Russ McKamey, su dueño, con un grupo de colaboradores, somete a los visitantes a una pesadilla psicológica, sin escatimar en el contacto físico. Tanto es así que incluso fue denunciado en varias ocasiones por ello.
Para ingresar, el primer filtro tiene que ver con varios exámenes. Primero, el participante deberá someterse a estudios médicos, entre ellos un test de drogas, y psicológicos para comprobar si está apto para el terror. Luego deberá leer y firmar un documento de unas 40 páginas que detallan varias de las cosas que pueden suceder allí adentro. Así el dueño busca desligarse de algunas responsabilidades, aunque eso, en cuestiones jurídicas, no es posible. Es entonces, una especie de advertencia.
En las cláusulas del documento se incluyen como posibilidades, situaciones reales muy extremas:
“Hay una posibilidad de que te saquen los dientes, de hacerte un tatuaje, de que te arranquen las uñas”
El documento dice que el visitante puede ser enterrado vivo en un ataúd o hasta tener que nadar por un sistema de túneles con un mínimo de aire y con caimanes tratando de morderlo.
Claro que todo esto puede ser parte de una táctica para infundir más miedo y así lograr mayor predisposición hacia un estado de terror psicológico.
Una vez superado ese complicado filtro, la experiencia comienza con un estudio de la persona en el que salen a la luz los peores miedos para utilizarlos luego durante la experiencia. Es decir que si el visitante tiene temor por los insectos, lo más probable es que lo encierren en una pecera llena de ellos. Y si eso no alcanza, el requisito puede ser que se los tenga que comer para salir.
En sus inicios, el maltrato físico sí era una posibilidad y por eso tuvo varias denuncias en su contra.
Las denuncias fueron desestimadas, finalmente, luego de que las grabaciones fueran entregadas por completo a la justicia. McKamey filma todo el tiempo y luego comparte la experiencia de los usuarios en su canal de YouTube.
McKamey, ante todo eso, se defiende y mantiene que la controversia es liderada por gente que no pasó por el tour y que está basada en acciones que “no han existido por cinco o seis años”. Según él, “solía ser una experiencia más física, con los actores gritando y volviéndose muy físicos con ellos”. Ahora, “es un juego mental”.
“Uso mucha hipnosis, muchas técnicas de control mental. Si puedes hipnotizar a la gente, puedes hacerles pensar lo que quieras. No necesito darle una paliza a nadie. La hipnosis es una poderosa herramienta mental. Puedo poner a alguien en una piscina con 3 pulgadas de agua y decirle que hay un gran tiburón blanco, y van a creer que están nadando en el océano con un gran tiburón blanco”
Dicho esto, la lista de espera para ingresar al “juego” tiene unos 24.000 inscriptos. ¿Cuánto cuesta la experiencia? El dueño acepta comida para sus perros y para donar a refugios de la zona. No pide dinero a cambio. Por lo menos, eso es lo que dice.

Of course, all this may be part of a tactic to spread more fear and thus achieve a greater predisposition towards a state of psychological terror.
Once this complicated filter has been overcome, the experience begins with a study of the person in which the worst fears come to light and then use them during the experience. In other words, if the visitor is afraid of insects, they will most likely be enclosed in a fish tank full of them. And if that is not enough, the requirement may be that they have to be eaten to go out.
In its beginnings, physical abuse was a possibility and that is why it had several complaints against it.
The complaints were finally dismissed after the recordings were completely delivered to justice. McKamey films all the time and then shares the user experience on his YouTube channel.
McKamey, above all that, defends himself and maintains that the controversy is led by people who did not go through the tour and that it is based on actions that “have not existed for five or six years.” According to him, “it used to be a more physical experience, with the actors screaming and becoming very physical with them.” Now, “it is a mind game.”

That said, the waiting list to enter the “game” has about 24,000 registered. How much does the experience cost? The owner accepts food for his dogs and to donate to local shelters. He doesn’t ask for money in return. At least, that’s what it says.
