La chica del turbante amarillo (o igual es un mantel) / The girl in the yellow turban (or maybe that’s a tablecloth)

Este cuadro me gusta mucho, me parece que transmite optimismo y alegría, así que lo he puesto en el salón, para que emita buenas vibraciones, con esa sonrisota de oreja o oreja y ese turbante / mantel enrollado en la cabeza. Y me gusta el gesto de andar jugando a hacer cucú o algo así, como si fuéramos peques…

En la foto se pierde algo de color y no se aprecia que en los ojos se ve una imagen reflejada, como en las series de CSI que amplíííííían las fotos indefinidamente hasta que detectan una muesca dentro de un trazo de una huella dactilar en la matrícula de un coche aparcado a seis manzanas de distancia gracias al reflejo del flash en un escaparate sucio.

Pues eso, que además lo terminé en dos sesiones y estoy que no quepo en mí de gozo. Será por la euforia de mirar el cuadrito. Vamos, que dan ganas de retirarse a Tahití a pintar lugareños / lugareñas en plan Gauguin.

¿El nombre? La llamaremos Fulgencia Feliciana. ¿Y eso? Eso es su novio y tampoco baila, que decía el chiste, je, je.

I love this painting, I feel it transmits joy and optimism, so I’ve hung it on the hall, to spread good vibrations from that huge smile and that turban / tablecloth wrapped around her head. And the like the way she looks like playing peekaboo as if we were toddlers.

The photograph lacks some colour and, besides, it’s not possible to see that in her eyes there is a reflected image, like when in a CSI TV series they zooooooooooooooooom in infinitely until they find a small notch in a dot of a line within a fingerprint on a license plate parked two blocks away thanks to the reflection of a flashlight on a dirty shop window.

besides, I finished the portrait in just two sittings and I am really satisfied. maybe that’s because of the joy coming from looking at the painting. I mean, you really feel like going to Tahiti to retire and paint people just like Gauguin.

The name? We’ll call her Fulgencia Feliciana. And why? Well, because… Why not?
