Vive en Nueva York, Estados Unidos. La obra de Shirin Neshat se caracteriza por el tratamiento de la condición de la mujer, en las sociedades islámicas contemporáneas.

Turbulent
Turbulent is a two-screen film installation by famous Iranian artist Shirin Neshat. It is among her most critically acclaimed works, having won her a Lion d’Or at the Venice Biennale back in 1999. It is also her first-ever venture into the world of video, an art medium that later played a significant role in her artistic career.
Turbulent es una instalación cinematográfica en dos pantallas de la famosa artista Iraní Shirin Neshat. Es una de sus obras más aclamadas por la crítica, habiendo ganado un León de Oro en la Bienal de Venecia en 1999. También es su primera incursión en el mundo del video, un medio artístico que más tarde jugó un papel importante en su carrera artística.
